Then again, we’ve had some interesting requests. No matter the contents, we treat every package as a priority and take every shipment personally. A couple of chapters from our past are below.

Cross-country collaboration. When the client decided to hold their week-long annual leadership retreat thousands of miles away, they expected the usual logistical nightmare. We eased the pain by scoping out the site in advance and planning every detail, from a cross-country convoy to checking each and every item in and out. We were with them every step of the way and for six days and five nights they focused on the bottom line, not when supplies would arrive.

Intoxicating…and toxic. They had been hyping the market for months in preparation for the release of their newest fragrance. With cases scheduled to hit over 400 stores at the exact same time, coordinating the delivery was a task in itself. Not to mention that perfume in 50-bottle batches is considered hazardous material. With a few quick calls to all the right people the bottles were on the shelves by morning. The only thing sweeter was the smell of success.

An aria in another area. This wasn’t their usual 2 AM pickup for 9 AM delivery. She had finished recording the vocals in LA, but the music mixing was being done in Europe. A one-of-a-kind item needed half a world away calls for a little something extra. We sent a Secure Transportation Specialist to pick up the tapes and hand-deliver them to the sound engineer overseas. Our service was golden; the album went platinum.

Focusing on the client. Literally. While our work for this university is full of unique challenges, sometimes they really put us to the test. One of their research laboratories was waiting on delivery of primate contact lenses from abroad and due to their sensitive nature had no time to lose in customs. Our licensed customs broker met the doctor and his cargo at airport immigration and walked him through the formal entry process. Even a monkey could see the difference ICN makes.
